Nicosia, Cyprus - May 15 -17, 2026

14th International Symposium of the Society for
Research on the Cerebellum and Ataxias

Welcome!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the local organising committee, I would like to extend our warmest welcome to Nicosia, Cyprus, for the 14th International Symposium of the Society for Research on the Cerebellum and Ataxias (SRCA 2026), taking place from May 15 to 17, 2026.

The annual symposia of the SRCA have become a leading international meeting on the cerebellum, bringing together researchers and clinicians from around the world to discuss all aspects of cerebellar science—from fundamental neurobiology to clinical studies of the ataxias. The 2026 meeting aims to continue this tradition of excellence and collaboration.

This symposium will take place in the historic city of Nicosia, the world’s last divided capital, where ancient and modern heritage coexist. We are also pleased to announce that the gala dinner will be held at “The Archontiko of Axiothea”, one of the most characteristic examples of 18th-century urban architecture in Cyprus. Located in the Old Town of Lefkosia (Nicosia), close to the Green Line, this beautifully restored mansion takes its name from the street on which it stands and serves as a cultural landmark hosting artistic and academic events. We hope its unique atmosphere will provide a memorable setting for an evening of friendship, discussion, and celebration.

The local organising committee and the SRCA Committee have worked diligently to prepare a scientific programme featuring distinguished international speakers whose contributions reflect the mission of the SRCA: to promote education and advance basic and clinical research into the neuroscience of the cerebellum. We are deeply grateful to all our presenters for sharing their expertise and to all attendees for contributing their latest findings and perspectives.

We hope that you enjoy the meeting and that your days in Nicosia will be productive, stimulating, and memorable.

With warm regards,

Panagiotis Zis, Chair of the Local Organising Committee
Associate Professor of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology
Medical School, University of Cyprus
